Society is moving back to the market because we can chat to the stall owner, find out the origin of our food and do some socialising while were there. Not to mention trying new tasty meals from all the fresh ingredients seasonally available to us.

We are realising the value of the Farmers Markets, Farm shops on the side of the road and the local allotment where Herbert grows his own vegetables. There are even times when there is so much and no one will eat it. Why waste good wholesome food. Offer it for someone else to have. Whether it be a charitable donation, or a swap of fruit and vegetables with someone else, lets make our food count.

Arriving at a Farmers Market and seeing all that fresh produce makes my mouth water. Its also giving a little back to your local community too. Visiting stalls and talking about the whereabouts of your food makes it all the better.

Youll be reducing the carbon footprint on food import and export. Youll be getting it fresh, not something thats been stored for a month or nine, and best of all you get to choose whats in season.
